1. Acceptance
By using Shards, inviting the bot to a Discord server, interacting with Shards commands or messages, logging into the dashboard, submitting dashboard settings, using hosted custom bot features, or purchasing or receiving premium access, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Shards runs on Discord. Your use of Discord, Discord accounts, Discord servers, Discord billing, and Discord developer surfaces is also governed by Discord's own terms, policies, and rules.
2. Eligibility
You must be allowed to use Discord in your region and must follow Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Developer Terms, Developer Policy, monetization rules, and any other platform rules that apply to your use.
If you configure Shards for a server, manage premium access, publish presets, send dashboard messages, submit a custom bot token, or act on behalf of a server, team, or organization, you confirm that you have permission to do so.
3. The service
Shards provides Discord bot and dashboard features for server entertainment, economy, progression, configuration, moderation support, automation, and server management. Features may include shard and reputation economies, collections, crates, resources and combined resources, crafting, cores, biochromes, arsenal weapons, blessings, weapon categories, loadouts, skill-based robbery and zone combat, hired security contracts, titles, profile banners, skill trees, gambling-style minigames, PvP games, loans, bounties, zone systems, drifting merchant shops, lottery, giveaways, chat activity games, reward routing for message and voice channels, virus simulator systems, Cards Against Humanity style games, Impostor games, spawner tools, presets, backups, tutorials, logs, dashboard action queues, premium management, custom bot hosting, and AI sentience, genie, AI moderator, or regular auto-mod features.
Not every feature is enabled in every server. Server administrators control many settings, limits, access rules, rewards, channels, roles, moderation behaviors, and modules.
4. Acceptable use
- You may not use Shards to break laws, abuse Discord systems, harass people, spam, evade moderation, deceive users, distribute harmful content, or interfere with the service.
- You may not exploit bugs, automate abusive requests, overload infrastructure, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, bypass dashboard or bot access controls, or use another person's account, token, entitlement, role, or permissions without authorization.
- You may not submit illegal, infringing, abusive, hateful, sexual, exploitative, or otherwise harmful content through presets, custom cards, bot messages, AI prompts, dashboard fields, game submissions, names, titles, images, URLs, or configuration text.
- You are responsible for content and actions you submit through Shards, including dashboard messenger content, public presets, Impostor submissions, custom Cards Against Humanity cards, custom item/title/core/resource/weapon/category/blessing text, AI prompts, and sentience moderator requests.
5. Server administration
Server owners and authorized dashboard administrators are responsible for deciding whether Shards is appropriate for their community, assigning bot and dashboard permissions carefully, configuring modules, setting economy and moderation rules, and explaining server-specific usage to their members when needed.
Administrative Shards tools can change balances, reputation, resources, inventory, titles, cores, biochromes, arsenal weapons, blessings, weapon categories, default weapons, inventory capacities, blessing removal costs, cooldowns, loans, bounties, zone data, hired security settings and contracts, robbery and zone combat settings, drifting merchant catalogs, crate and chat activity drop tables, reward routing, auto-mod and AI moderation settings, warning points, appeals, command restrictions, leaderboards, restrictions, roles, nicknames, messages, giveaways, chat activity games, virus simulator state, presets, backups, tutorials, log routing, premium role sync, and other server state. Server admins are responsible for actions taken by people they authorize.
6. AI and sentience
When enabled by a server, Shards may provide AI sentience, free-will replies or reactions, AI genie responses, AI auto-mod review, AI moderator chat, and AI-assisted moderator actions through configured providers such as OpenAI or a self-hosted Ollama endpoint. These features may process recent Discord message context, links, attachment metadata, server configuration, command catalogs, user game/economy values, cooldowns, zones, inventory, titles, crafted items, cores, biochromes, arsenal settings, weapon definitions, blessing definitions, rarity and drop settings, moderation rules, and other bot state so Shards can answer or act in context.
AI output can be incomplete, incorrect, unexpected, or unavailable. Do not rely on AI output as professional, legal, financial, medical, safety, or emergency advice.
Sentience moderator powers are server administration powers. Only configured sentience moderators should request AI moderator or admin actions, and you may not use AI features to bypass Discord rules, server rules, dashboard permissions, user opt-outs, or Shards safeguards.
Users may opt out of AI context where the bot supports that option. AI opt-out limits AI use of that member's information; it does not disable ordinary non-AI bot features that are needed to operate a server's configured Shards systems.
7. Premium subscriptions and paid features
Shards may offer optional paid tiers, currently including Luxury and Luxury+. Premium features may include higher limits, additional modules or configuration, hosted custom bot tools, branding options, role sync, priority support, early access, or other perks when available.
Premium feature names, limits, included perks, access methods, and availability may change over time. A feature being listed in a tier does not guarantee uninterrupted availability in every region, guild, account, or Discord surface.
Discord-based purchases, recurring billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, payment disputes, and payment processing are handled through Discord and its payment partners, not directly by Shards. Your purchase and use of premium offerings may also be subject to Discord's purchase, billing, monetization, and platform terms.
8. Gifts, entitlements, and downgrades
Premium access may come from direct purchase, gifts, promotions, trial access, manually granted entitlements, or Discord-provided entitlement records. Gifted, promotional, or manually granted access has no cash value except where required by law and may be limited to a Discord account, guild, or other Discord context.
Luxury and Luxury+ features remain available only while the relevant entitlement is active, valid, and successfully synced. Access may end or be limited if a subscription expires, is canceled, is refunded, is reversed, payment fails, Discord revokes the entitlement, a gift is withdrawn or invalidated, a server removes the bot, the service cannot verify the entitlement, or entitlement sync is unavailable.
When premium access ends, Shards may downgrade the affected account or server, enforce lower limits, stop premium-only actions, remove premium-linked role sync, and restrict premium-only settings or tools. We may preserve premium configuration and records for restoration, support, auditing, security, compliance, or abuse prevention.
9. Hosted custom bots
Luxury+ or other eligible offerings may allow server administrators to connect a custom Discord bot token for hosted custom bot support. You may submit only tokens for Discord applications you own or are authorized to manage.
A hosted custom bot can act in Discord under that custom bot identity and may use the same Shards runtime, permissions, commands, dashboard sync, logging, premium gating, and moderation protections as the main bot. You are responsible for the custom bot application, its Discord configuration, its permissions, and any Discord developer obligations that apply.
Shards may reject, disable, rotate away from, or remove hosted custom bot configuration if a token is invalid, unsafe, unauthorized, violates Discord rules, creates operational risk, loses required intents or permissions, or is no longer eligible for the feature.
10. Virtual balances, items, and game state
Shards balances, seeds, reputation, resources, cores, crafted items, crates, weapons, blessings, biochromes, loadouts, trades, listings, merchant stock, titles, banners, lottery tickets, zone ownership, hired security contracts and stats, robbery or zone combat state, loans, bounties, virus stats, skill progress, roles granted through Shards, rewards, cooldowns, leaderboards, and similar game data are virtual service features only. They have no cash value, are not property, are not redeemable for money, and may be changed, reset, revoked, rebalanced, corrected, or removed as part of operating the service.
Gambling-style and lottery-style features use virtual Shards game data only. They are not real-money gambling and may not be used to create real-money wagering or prizes through Shards.
11. Public and shared content
If you publish presets publicly or share configuration with other servers, the submitted preset content, metadata, creator ID, source server metadata, votes, and related public information may be visible to other users. Do not publish private, confidential, infringing, or harmful material.
Game submissions and custom content may be displayed in Discord channels or dashboard surfaces according to the feature. For example, Impostor DM submissions are revealed in the game channel, Cards Against Humanity custom cards may be shown to players, public core, weapon, blessing, and biochrome drops may show names, stats, drop chances, colors, and claim outcomes, trades or listings may show final item stats, drifting merchant messages may show configured shop entries and stock, hired security may be shown during robbery or zone challenges, zone attacks may notify or invite the defending owner to spectate, and dashboard messages may be sent to Discord channels with buttons that trigger configured actions.
12. Safety, moderation, and access restrictions
We may restrict, rate limit, suspend, globally ban, or terminate access to the bot, dashboard, custom bot hosting, premium-linked features, AI features, or related services if we believe use is abusive, unsafe, unlawful, harmful to users or infrastructure, inconsistent with Discord rules, or in violation of these terms.
Server admins may also restrict or remove user access inside their own server through Discord permissions, dashboard permissions, role gates, Shards restrictions, auto-mod rules, warning points, moderation actions, command restrictions, feature toggles, and bot configuration.
13. Availability and changes
Shards is provided on an evolving basis. Features may be added, removed, renamed, limited, rebalanced, interrupted, or changed without notice. We may perform maintenance, enforce limits, pause features, disable risky functionality, or stop operating part or all of the service.
14. Stopping use
You may stop using Shards by removing the bot from your server, disabling Shards features, canceling premium access through Discord where applicable, deleting custom bot configuration, and discontinuing dashboard use. Removing the bot or leaving a server may not immediately delete all records, logs, premium records, audit history, or backups.
15. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Shards and its operators disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, data preservation, and error-free operation.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Shards and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, virtual balances, virtual items, profits, goodwill, server activity, moderation outcomes, premium access, or service availability arising from use of the service.
17. Privacy
Your use of the service is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains what data is collected, how it is used, and how AI and dashboard features process information.
18. Contact
Questions about these terms, premium access, billing-related access issues, hosted custom bot support, AI features, or privacy can be sent through the Shards support server.
