SHARDS · HELP CENTER
Find your next step.
Plain-language guides for your community, your settings, and your members.
Getting started
Set up Shards for the first time
Start with what you want your community to do. Choose a balanced preset, connect channels and staff roles, then test a command as a normal member. You can pause setup and come back without losing your choices.
Getting started
What does a preset change?
Presets are free for every server. They cover the complete supported configuration, not just a few rewards. Review changes by category, keep anything you do not want changed, and map channels and roles to this server. Balances and member progress are kept unless you explicitly choose a reset. Individual Luxury features still require the appropriate subscription. Applying a preset is confirmed only when the bot finishes; use preset history to review or undo an application.
Currency & progression
Why is a member not earning currency?
Check that Economy is enabled in Modules. Then check eligible channels and roles, message or voice requirements, cooldowns, and the earning cap. Use /account to see recorded changes and /cooldowns for waiting times. A saved dashboard change may still be waiting for bot confirmation.
Currency & progression
Understand cores, resources, and items
Currency is spendable money; resources are materials; cores provide perks and can have trade-offs. /inventory → Search & sort helps members find items by name, rarity, status, or perks. Open an item to inspect its effect and usage requirements before buying, equipping, or using it.
Troubleshooting
A channel or role action is not working
Select the correct server first. The bot needs access to the channel and permission to send messages. For role changes, the bot role must be above the role it assigns. Dashboard access and Discord permissions are separate. Search selectors show names; you should not need to type Discord IDs.
Community & forms
Publish a form and receive responses
Create questions, preview the form, then publish a version. Draft edits do not change the live form until you publish them. In Automations, configure new-response notifications and choose a Discord channel. Configure reviewer users or roles separately. Native Discord forms support compatible fields; Hybrid forms continue web-only questions on the website using the same respondent.
Games & events
Start games without surprising your members
Enable the games you want in Modules, choose an appropriate channel, and review timing, entry costs, and rewards. Test automatic games before announcing them. Game Nights handles sign-ups and rooms; chat activity games reward participation in the configured channel.
Troubleshooting
How do I know a change is live?
Saved means the dashboard accepted your request. Applied means the bot confirmed it. If a change is still pending, keep its reference and contact Support rather than repeatedly sending it. Logs explain what happened; Audit identifies who changed settings. Backups and preset history offer recovery tools with a preview before changes.
Support & privacy
How temporary Support access works
A named Support member can request two hours of dashboard access to the server attached to your conversation. Only its owner or an existing dashboard Super Admin can accept. The requester or an authorized administrator can revoke it at any time. Resets, restores, and deletions require a separate approval for the exact action. Support cannot transfer ownership, view bot credentials, grant permanent access, or extend its own access. Completed changes are not automatically undone when access ends.
Support & privacy
Who can read a support conversation?
Your messages are shared with the Shards Support Team in a staff-only Discord thread. Other members and other server administrators cannot browse your conversation. Do not send passwords, authentication codes, payment details, or bot tokens. Sharing diagnostics is optional. Internal staff notes are never shown to the requester. Closed conversation messages are retained for 90 days; security audit records do not contain your message text.
Getting started
Help your members learn Shards
Use /tutorial in Discord. Members can choose currency, reputation, inventory, games, community features, or administration. Tutorials use the server’s settings, enabled features, and currency name. Share a short introduction with the few commands your community needs first; you do not need to introduce every feature at once.
